A tour of seven houses in the Racquet Club Estates, palm Springs on february 18, 2012. The neighborhoods are a development of houses collaborated on by the Alexander Company with William Krisel, Donald Wexler, and Jack Meiselman circa 1958-1963. They were moderately priced for their time at $50 sq ft today’s dollar. The houses I toured ranged from Class 1 Historic sites to renovations in process. It is refreshing to see houses of modest size being saved for their original design that are still pertinent in today’s world. Two things that the seven houses have in common, besides classic cars, are the presence of power lines and mountain views. The group I toured with was fascinating and fun, with new friends from Las Vegas, Nevada to attendees from Arizona representing Phoenix Modern very cool.. Great to see houses at under 1500 sq ft with a ton of personality.
