This house was the first of three toured on Saturday February 11, 2012. It was cloudy at the time which helped capture the multi-planer spaces which comprise this house. Although the newest(1963), built to replace the original that burned down, it appeared to be in the worst shape of the three I visited. This could be a result of Neutra’s experimental nature with materials, or the rooftop pools he incorporated. Hopefully the students from Cal Poly Pomona, which owns the house, will be involved in the restoration. It had a strange resemblance to Paul Rudolph’s Apartment in NYC which I had a chance to tour shortly after he passed in the 1990’s.
